Freehold means the unit is registered in your name indefinitely. Leasehold means you hold a registered lease, commonly 30 years with renewal options, and the land underneath belongs to someone else. Leasehold is common in central areas such as Phloen Chit and Chit Lom where the land is held under long-term lease, and it usually prices lower than a comparable freehold unit.
